Very fine and rare, water-resistant, center seconds, 18K pink gold wristwatch with an 18K pink gold buckle. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Two-body, solid, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back, inclined bezel, concave lugs, dust protection cap. Two-tone silver with applied luminous pink gold baton indexes, outer minute/seconds divisions. Luminous pink gold dauphine hands. Cal. 27-SC, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, swan neck regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 35 mm. Thickness 11 mm. Notes Unknown until today, this watch is appearing at auction for the first time. Purchased new by the owner’s father, the watch was treated with the utmost care over the years, being worn only on rare occasions. While the extract clearly states the watch was delivered on a leather bracelet, the extremely rare expandable Gay Frères bracelet (also signed Patek Philippe) is of the period, being dated 3.1957. It is likely that shortly after the purchase the owner returned to Patek Philippe to order a gold bracelet (for examples of a similar bracelet in steel see "Steel Patek Philippe" by John Goldberger, pg 432).
