Fine, tonneau-shaped, self-winding, water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with round button chronograph, registers, tachometer and date. Three-body, polished and brushed, steel revolving and graduated bezel with 12 gold support screws and 4 gold rider tabs at the quarter hours, gold push buttons and winding crown, screwed-down case back and crown, sapphire crystal. Bi-color black with applied luminous baton indexes and luminous dots, subsidiary guilloché gold-ring dials for the seconds, the 12-hour and 30-minute registers, outer minutes/seconds division, outer most tachometer scale, aperture for the date. Cal based on Valjoux 7750, rhodium plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating fl at balance spring, index regulator, hack mechanism. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness 15 mm. Dial and case signed Notes The watch bears the inscription “ 17-12-94 Carlos Sainz – Luis Moya” referring to the famous double WRC (world rally championship) winner in 1990 and 1992. In 1994 he had just joined the Subaru team driving an Impreza 555 fi nishing second behind Didier Auriol and won the Acropolis Rally.
