CARRIAGE CLOCK WITH PORCELAIN PANELS Richard & Co. , French. Made circa 1880. Fine, miniature, gilt brass and painted porcelain, 8-day going, hour and half-hour striking carriage clock with repeating. Multi-piece, “cornice”, gilt engraved with fl owers, the sides with painted porcelain panels of a young lady fi shing and another in a landscape, hinged handle. Porcelain decorated to match the case, annular chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel spade hands. Rectangular brass plates, going barrels for both trains, lateral lever escapement on a gilt platform, notched bimetallic compensation balance with temperature adjustment screws, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator, striking and repeating on a gong.
