A TOKEN OF LOVE Swiss, probably Geneva, No. 20148. Made circa 1890. Fine, keyless, 18K yellow gold, painted on enamel and rose-cut diamond-set lady's hunting cased pendant watch. Four-body, "bassine", foliate engraved and set with rose-cut diamonds, the front cover decorated with a painted on enamel cherub and cornfl owers on a green guilloche enamel ground, the back cover decorated to match. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with blue Arabic numerals, outer gold dot minute divisions. Gold spade hands. Cal. 12’’’, matte gilt, 10 jewels, cylinder escapement, three-arm balance, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator. Cuvette numbered. Diam. 30 mm Notes The cornfl ower was traditionally the attribute of a young man in love.
