“AVRIL” BY HOUR LAVIGNE Hour Lavigne, No. 1040. Made in the 1930's. Fine brass mechanical desk clock with hand painted dial. To be sold without reserve Brass dome-shaped with gate motif engraved hinged doors. Hinged back door with poem engraved on inside. Hand-painted depicting a country scene the upper section with Zodiac symbols, moonphase calendar, applied gilt Arabic numerals. Gilt cathedral hands. Circular brass plates, barrel for the going trains, straight-line lever escapement on a rectangular brass platform, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dim. 26 x 17 x 7 cm.
