Very fine, self-winding, water-resistant to 100 m, titanium diver's wristwatch with date, 3 crowns, depth gauge, length of dive indicator and an integral titanium IWC link bracelet. Accompanied by a fitted box, certificate, instruction booklet and accessories. Two-body, brushed, screwed-down case back and crown, the crown at 2 adjusts the rotating inner bezel, the one at 4 resets the maximum depth indicator, sapphire crystal. Black with painted luminous baton indexes, yellow rotating ring for the diving time display, subsidiary seconds dial, aperture for the date at 3. Luminous steel baton hands. Cal. 8914, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 40 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 43 mm. Thickness 15 mm. Approx. overall length 195 mm. Notes The IWC Deep One, introduced in 1999, was the first wristwatch equipped with a mechanical depth gauge that showed depth up to 45 meters. The mechanical depth system is a Bourdon tube which acts as a pressure-sensing element. When water enters the coil tube, it causes the tube to rigidify.
