Oiseau Chan teur Attributed to Bontems, Paris. Made circa 1890. Fine, gilt-metal singing bird box. Two-body, rectangular with rounded corners, engraved with foliate stripes and engine-turning, the top and bird cover decorated to match. Rectangular brass, going barrel and rectangular bellows, the revolving bird with moving wings, tail and beak, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel wheel, bellows with cam, gilt brass grill pierced and engraved with foliage.
