Hexagonal Tabl e Clock German. Made circa 1690. Fine, hour-striking, two-train, single hand, gilt brass hexagonal table clock. Hexagonal, on three winged paw feet with female masks, glazed side panels for viewing the movement with engraved borders, molded base and top, the top and bottom edge with engraved stiff-leaf decoration, hinged base with engraved strapwork and aperture for the hour bell secured by a two-arm strap with turned steel screws. Applied brass chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, fleur-de-lis half-hour markers, inner quarter-hour track, center with engraved foliate decoration. Blued steel arrow hand. Hexagonal gilt brass plates, turned baluster pillars, fusee and chain for the going train, foliate engraved barrel, foliate engraved fixed barrel for the hour striking with an engraved hammer on the bell in the base, pierced and engraved foliate striking gate, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, single footed cock engraved with stylized foliage and with a screw, regulator on the edge, countwheel for the striking on the backplate, formerly with alarm, the alarm train removed.
