Tudor Ref. 7169 Steel Chronograph Tudor, “Oyster Date Chronograph,” case No. 826786, Ref. 7169/0, case made by Rolex, Geneva. Made in 1972. Fine, water-resistant, stainless steel wristwatch with date, round-button chronograph, register and a stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet. Three-body, polished and brushed, screwed-down case back, crown and buttons, graduated bidirectional revolving blue bezel for elapsed time, Triplock winding crown protected by the crown guard, crystal with cyclops lens, screw-down bottom pusher jammed. Bicolor anthracite and blue with luminous baton indexes, outer 1/5th seconds scale with 5-minute/second orange Arabic markers, subsidiary dials for the seconds and the 45-minute register, aperture for the date at 6. Luminous black baton hands. Cal. 234, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 40 mm. Thickness 13 mm. Approx. overall length 200 mm. Notes This Tudor has remained in new old stock condition, even retaining its original caseback sticker. The case still exhibits its factory finish and is without a doubt the best reference 7169 to appear at auction
