Zenith Carillon Grande Sonnerie and Minute-Repeating Clockwatch Zenith, "Repetition a Minutes Grande Sonnerie & Carillon", case No. 179801. Made circa 1915. Extremely fine and very rare, trip minute-repeating, 14K rose gold, hunting-cased, keyless, two-train, carillon Grande Sonnerie clockwatch with three hammers and three gongs. Four body, "bassine", polished, the front cover with applied foliate monogram "AT", the interior with engraved presentation inscription. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the technical details and prize medals. White enamel, dauphine numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. Notes The present watch is a particularly fine example of the Zenith minute-repeating carillon clockwatch. This type of minute-repeating Grande Sonnerie clockwatch movement, with carillon on three gongs with three stacked hammers but without Petite Sonnerie, were usually commercialised by Zenith using the Cesar Racine patent.
