Very fine and rare, quarter-repeating, 18K varicolored gold and painted on enamel, pearl-set pocket watch. Two-body, Louis XVI, the back with painted on enamel scene of two country lovers by a fountain against an opalescent guilloche enamel sky, shield-shaped frame, translucent imperial blue enamel border with gold paillon flower decoration, varicoloured gold band and border with leaf decoration, bezel set with split-pearls. White enamel, Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions with fifteen-minute Arabic numerals. Elaborate gold hands set with seed pearls. 36 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full-plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock pierced with the name “Bordier”, polished steel endplate, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Diam. 48 mm.
