Sold in May, 2008 Very fine and unusual, large, cushion-shaped, water-resistant, blackened stainless steel and ceramic chronometer diver’s wristwatch with a blackened stainless steel Panerai buckle. Accompanied by a guarantee card, user manual, fitted box and cosc attestation. Three-body, solid, polished, blackened steel screweddown case back, removable wire lugs with 4 screws, screwed-down ceramic winding-crown, sapphire crystal. Black with recessed luminous Arabic numerals and baton indexes, subsidiary seconds dial at 9, Siluro logo at 6. Luminous blackened baton hands. Cal. OP X, rhodium-plated with special Panerai decoration, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, Glucydur balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, swan neck regulation. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 45 mm. Thickness 13.5 mm. Notes Launched in 2007, the ceramic reference PAM 292 was much awaited by collectors who had previously appreciated the PVD-coated models. The highly durable ceramic material is much more scratch-resistant than PVD.
