Specially made for the St. Gallen "Tir Federal" archery contest, in 1904. Very fine, pink gold-plated and silver keyless pocket watch. Accompanied by the original fitted presentation box and the original Sandoz certificate. To be sold without reserve Four-body, “demi-bassine”, polished and frosted, the back cover cast with the design by Holy Freres, St. Imier of a stylized figure of an archer and the inscription “St. Gallen 1904”. Hinged silver cuvette engraved “Eidgenossisches Schutzenfest, St. Gallen, 1904” beneath the coat of arms. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, subsidiary seconds. Gold Louis XV hands. 19’’’, frosted gilt, bar caliber, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator. Dial signed by Sandoz, the movement signed LeCoultre & Cie. Diam. 54 mm. Notes As stated in the accompanying certificate, this watch was tested to the equivalent standard to a 1st Class Observatory rating.
