Continental School, 19th century. "Portrait of An Elegant Gentleman", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Painting depicts a young raven haired gentleman dressed in formal leather armor with white high collared shirt showing at top detailed with a pair of tassels, white ruffled sleeves peeking from the bottom of each sleeve, a white silk bow tied onto his right bicep, and a gold band on his right forefinger. Figure is standing in front of a black hanging drape with a glimpse of landscape peeking out to the right side. Framed 44" x 34.5", unframed 37" x 28".
