Barker Ellis (English, 19th/ 20th century). An early 20th century ornate silver plate ten piece epergne with four matching collared candle sticks. Centerpiece is of pedestal form decorated on shaped base with repousse band of c scrolls, grape leaves and clusters, with large center bowl and stem with four arms terminating in bowls, with all bowls decorated on exterior with repousse band of scrolls, grape leaves, and bunches, and on interior with engraved scrolls. One extra small bowl is included. Four candle with attached underbowls decorated with removable collar and band with repousse scrolls, grape leaves, and grape bunches. Marked on bottom of pedestal "Barker Ellis, Made in England". Epergne approximately 11.75" tall x 21.5" wide. Candlesticks 3 1/8" tall x 2 3/4" diameter at base. Provenance: Former catcher with the Chicago Cubs and one of Nashville's most prolific restaurateurs.
