British, 19th century, possibly earlier. A pair of gilt porcelain fruit coolers, possibly belonging to British nobility, each comprised of body, liner, fruit bowl, and lid, with allover gilt decoration on each piece. Also decorated with bands of pink, yellow, and white thorny roses, with heraldic shield crests, possibly from a British noble family, on either side of fruit bowl that are decorated with a trio of fleur de lis and a single red hand. A pair of round white cartouches decorate the lid, each holding a depiction of an armored arm holding a dagger and flames spreading from the shoulder. Lid is topped by a pinecone finial, with applied turned handles on body, scroll handles on fruit bowl, and overall mounted on bronze round foot. One inscribed on bottom "EC Willy". Overall approximately 13 1/2" tall, 4 7/8" diameter at base.
