Three-body, polished and brushed, dedication on the yellow gold cuvette, yellow gold engraving of a biplane on the platinum case back, the bezels and case band yellow gold. Silver with applied white gold Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary guilloche seconds. White gold Breguet hands. 37 mm, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with eight adjustments, blued steel fl at balance spring, index regulator. Property of the Family of the Original Owner Notes The present lot comes from the family of the original owner and is a testament to the unique special order pieces that Patek Philippe has done throughout its history. The unique piece was gifted to Captain Purcell by one of his students and features an engraving of the exact plane they used during fl ight instruction.
