TIFFANY & CO. DESK COMPENDIUM Tiffany & Co. makers, Chelsea, USA, No. 23909. Made circa 1950. Very fine and rare silver desk clock with ink well, barometer and thermometer. Rectangular, silver, two apertures for the clock, barometer, and thermometer, ink well in the center. Brushed silver with painted stylized Arabic numerals, outer minute track, barometer dial and mercury thermometer on the right. Blued steel cathedral hands. Straight line lever escapement, index regulator. Dial signed Tiffany & Co. and Chelsea, case signed Tiffany & Co. Makers. Dim. 25.5 x 9.5 x 10.5 cm. Notes Harry J. Klinger was general manager of Pontiac from 1932 until 1947. In 1951 Klinger was promoted to group vice president of car and truck operations. The rear of the piece inscribed “To Harry J Klingler 'Mr. Pontiac,' From the Pontiac Zone and Regional Personnel, June 1951.”
