An exceptional Art Deco, black onyx, nephrite, gold and lapis lazuli, 8-day going desk clock. Accompanied by the original certificate and original Perera Joyero fitted box. Rectangular black onyx mounted upon two nephrite blocks, decorated with gold straps with black enamel line detail, terminated with lapis lazuli cabochons, nephrite block feet, back with black enamel panel on gold secured by four screws, lapis lazuli winding crown. Gold decorated with green enamel to simulate nephrite, black enamel borders and geometric decoration, gold Arabic numerals. Gold arrow hands. 42 mm., rhodium plated, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with 8 adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance-spring, index regulator. Case signed Perera and with the Verger Freres punchmark, movement signed Vacheron & Constantin. Dim. 12 x 9.4 x 4.5 cm. Notes A superb example of a Vacheron & Constantin Art Deco clock. The case by Verger Freres is in extremely good condition, perhaps due to the survival of the retailer’s original box.
