SINGING BIRD German, probably Griesbaum. Made circa 1950. Fine and unusual, silver-gilt filigree and cloisonné enamel, paste-set singing bird box. Rectangular with curved corners, entirely decorated with curled fi ligree and red, white, blue an black cloisonné enamel, applied with collet-set foiled faceted colored stones, activation slide at the front, the bird with oval cover decorated to match the case. Full plate, turned pillars, rectangular bellows, bird with moving head, fl apping wings, opening beak and tail, cams controlling the piston and the bird’s beak and tail, additional cams for the bird’s other movements, pierced and engraved grille.
