PEARL AND ENAMEL FLOWERS Siegrist & Cie, Genève, No. 7141. Made for the Islamic market, circa 1845. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, painted on enamel and pearl-set hunting-cased watch. Five-body, “bassine et fi lets”, foliate chased band, the front cover decorated with a pearl-set fl ower on a royal blue translucent enamel ground, engraved gold border with light blue champlevé enamel surround, the back cover with a fi nely painted on enamel bouquet of fl owers including tulips, roses and a peony on a royal blue translucent enamel ground, engraved gold, light blue and pearl-set border. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with radial Islamic hour numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel “Breguet” hands. 34 mm, frosted gilt bar caliber, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement, three-arm gilt balance with fl at balance-spring. Cuvette signed. Diam. 40.5 mm. Notes The enamel and pearl decoration of the present watch is particularly well executed and in original unrestored condition. It is Geneva during the fi rst half of the 19th century for export to the East.
