SILVER AND RUBY DESK ALARM CLOCK RETAILED BY HERMES Melik, Swiss, retailed by Hermes, Paris. Made circa 1940. Fine, silver and rub y desk clock with alarm. Polished silver, back door affi xed by 4 screws, stepped base, the front set with a panel of rubies on the two doors, silver bezel. Honeycomb silver with applied gilt baton indexes. Gilt baton hands. Rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Case signed Hermes, movement signed Melik. Dim.8 x 7 x 4 cm.
