Accompanied by a fitted L’Epée box and key. Gold plated, polished, stepped molded base and top, fl uted silvered pillars, bowed glazed sides and back door, the top glazed to view the escapement, hinged carrying handle. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, Arabic fi ve-minute numerals, alarm setting, date and days of the week dials below, subsidiary seconds at 12. Blued steel Breguet hands. Rectangular, gilt brass, four pillars, going barrels for both trains, 11 jewels, straight-line platform lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating fl at balance spring, index regulator, striking and repeating on a gong, separate alarm train with further hammer, musical movement in the base playing two tunes by Mozart activated by the alarm.
