Sold to Madame Cottin on September 28th, 1915 for 1500 Francs. Very fine and very rare, gilt brass, 8-day going, grande and petite sonnerie striking carriage clock with quarter repeating and alarm. Accompanied by the very fine, numbered, original gold tooled red morocco leather fitted Breguet box, numbered key and attestation. To be sold without reserve Silver with champlevé radial Roman numerals, outer minute dot divisions, subsidiary alarm setting dial below, engine-turned center, gilt brass engineturned dial plate. Blued steel Breguet hands. Rectangular, 85 x 60 mm, gilt brass, spring barrels for the going and striking trains, lateral lever escapement set on a platform, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, striking the hours and quarters with two hammers on two gongs, repeating activated by depressing the push-piece at the top of the case, separate alarm train with its own hammer. Dial and movement signed and numbered. Dim. Height 13.9 cm (without handle) width 9.2 cm, depth 7.6 cm. Notes The case and outer fi tted box of this fi ne grande and petite sonnerie carriage clock is made in the manner of the carriage clocks made during Breguet’s lifetime and is therefore particularly handsome in appearance.
