IWC, MARK XI, BRITISH MILITARY ISSUE International Watch Co. , Schaffhausen, “Mark XI.” Made in 1951. Fine and rare, center-seconds, water-resistant, stainless steel aviator’s wristwatch. Two-body, brushed, soft iron core to provide an antimagnetic shield, concave lugs, screwed-down caseback engraved with “Broad Arrow” and marked “6B/346, 1582/51.” Black with white painted Arabic numerals and tritium coated geometrical markers, “Broad Arrow” and “T.” Tritium coated steel bâton hands. Cal. 89, rhodium plated, “fausses côtes” decoration, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock-absorber, self-compensating fl at balance-spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 36 mm. Thickness: 12 mm.
