Fine and very rare, large, heavy 18K yellow gold, two-train, keyless pocket watch with independent centre-seconds and 1/4 second Diablotine. C. Four body, massive, “bassine et filets”, engine-turned with polished borders, the interior of the front cover with engraved dedication, button in the reeded band at 12 for the seconds and diablotine start/stop. Hinged gold cuvette with engine-turned border D. White enamel with narrow radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost seconds divisions divided into fifths of seconds, subsidiary 1/4 second diablotine. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 20’’’, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, double train with differential winding, 27 jewels, the upper escape wheel jewel in a gold chaton, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator with engraved scale on the bridge.
