Very fine, rare and elegant, rectangular, 18k white gold and diamond set lady’s reversible wristwatch with a Jaeger-LeCoultre 18k white gold and diamond set buckle. Accompanied by relevant literature on the watch. Three-body, solid, polished and set with 236 white diamonds, four-sided reversible inner case for dial, one diamond-set, one for winding, and one with signature, polished back, sapphire crystal. Two-tone silver with painted Arabic numerals, concentric minute track. Black feuille hands. Cal. 101, baguette, rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, 15 jewels, lateral lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to 2 positions and temperature, self-compensating flat balance spring, micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. DiAM. 11 x 27.5 mm. THiCkNEss 8 mm. Notes The Famous Calibre 101 Movement by Jaeger-LeCoultre. The calibre 101 was introduced in 1929 and at the time was celebrated as the smallest watch movement ever made, measuring 14 x 4.8 x 3.4 mm. The Duoplan movement itself was the idea of Paris watchmaker Henri Rodanet, an ingenious wheel train layout that allowed the movement to retain its timekeeping properties yet could be made in very small sizes for lady’s watches.
