SILVER SINGING BIRD BOX Attributed to Griesbaum, Germany. Made circa 1940. Fine, silver and watercolor painted singing bird box. Accompanied by a key. Two-body, rectangular, the sides and top engraved with foliate scrolls and flowers, the bird cover painted in watercolor with a winged cherub listening to a bird singing, bird-form activation slide, the back with hinged key compartment. Rectangular brass, going barrel and rectangular bellows, the revolving bird with moving wings, tail and beak, controlled by two cams mounted beneath the barrel wheel, gilt brass grill pierced and engraved with foliage. DIAM. 6.4 x 4.0 x 9.7 cm.
