Fine and rare, 18K yellow gold and enamel keyless dress watch. Foour-body, demi-bassine, polished, hinged case back with blue champleve enamel monogram within a lozenge, inclined outer border with blue champleve enamel geometric pattern, the bezel docorated to match. Hinged gold cuvette. Satine and engine-turned in a fan-leaf pattern, painted Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel spade hands. Cal. 17‘‘‘, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 17 jewels, counterpoised and calibrated straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial signed by the retailer, case and movement signed Patek Philippe. DIAM. 45.5 mm. Notes The present lot is a “Deluxe Table Clock”. The 59 8-D SCS caliber (59 mm, 8 days, jumping center seconds) was patented on the 17th August 1942 (Swiss patent No. 229234), published January 3rd,1944 under the title (in French) “Timekeeper with Center Seconds”.
