ROLEX PRINCE REF. 971, PLATINUM Rolex, Prince Brancard, No. 6077, Ref. 971. Made circa 1930. Very fine and extremely rare, rectangular curved, platinum gentleman’s wristwatch. C. Two body, flared, massive, polished, steel protective dust cap, stepped sides D. Silver with painted Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial. Blued steel baton hands M. 7 1/2’’’, chronometer, rhodium plated, 18 jewels, lateral lever escapement, monometallic balance,6 adjustments, self-compensating Breguet balance spring. Case, dust cap and movement signed. DIM. 25 x 43 mm Notes The Rolex Prince Brancard in platinum is the rarest Prince ever produced. Having only ever sold another 3 examples at Antiquorum, this present example has been preserved in very good condition for its age. A nice still visible hallmark to the side of the case, its fully stamped steel dust cap still preserved, despite its dial being refinished at some point in its life, a rare opportunity since the last one offered by our auction house was in 1999.
