Very fine and rare, minute-repeating, 18K yellow gold, keyless pocket watch with splitseconds chronograph and register. Accompanied by a retailer’s wooden box signed Sontag, Genève. C. Four-body, “bassine”, polished, the back cover with engraved monogram, the interior with engraved dedication, co-axial button in the crown fort he start/stop/return- to-zero functions oft he chronograph, button at 11 for the split-seconds. Hinged gold cuvette with engraved presentation inscription. D. White enamel with bold radial Roman numerals, outer minute and fifths of a second divisions, Arabic five-minute numerals, 60-minute register at 12, subsidiary seconds at 6. Blued steel spade hands. M. 18”’, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 31 jewels, wolf ’s tooth winding, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator, repeating on two coiled steel gongs activated by a slide on the band.
