Mark 4. 5 Omega “Speedmaster, Automatic,” Ref. ST 176.0012. Made in the late 1970s. Fine and rare self-winding, water-resistant, tonneau-shaped, stainless steel wristwatch with day, date, round button chronograph, 12-hour register, central minute recorder, tachometer, the 24 hours with night / day indication, and a stainless steel Omega bracelet with deployant clasp. Two-body, (patent CH 508.925) polished and brushed, screwdown case back with the embossed “Seamaster” logo, hooded lugs, tachometer scale graduated to 500 UPH reverse-painted on the sapphire crystal. Midnight blue with luminous baton indexes, outer Arabic fine minutes and minute/fifth second scale, black subsidiary dials for the seconds and the 12-hour register, the 24 hours with night/day indication by means of an arrow on a revolving disc, 60-minute register by means of a central white jet hand, apertures for the day (in French) and date. Luminous white baton hands. Cal. 1045, copper-colored, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring. Dial, case and movement signed. Dim. 42 x 45 mm. Thickness 15 mm. Approx overall length 173 mm. Notes Launched in 1974, the Ref. ST 176.0012 is often referred to by collectors as the ‘Mark 4.5’ as it has the same case as a Mk 1V and the same movement as the Mk V.
