Made in the late 1990’s. Very fine, astronomic, self-winding, skeletonized, platinum wristwatch with perpetual calendar, phases and age of the moon and a platinum Audemars Piguet buckle. Three-body, solid, polished and brushed, hobnail bezel, transparent case back, sapphire crystals, correctors on the band to change the date. Transparent, subsidiary silver ring dials for the date, the days of the week, the months, sector for the age of the moon, aperture for the moon phases. Oxidized gold feuille hands. Cal 2120/4, rhodium-plated, skeletonized and hand-engraved, 38 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 5 positions, shock absorber, self-compensating flat balance spring, hand-engraved 21K gold rotor. Notes According to our research this is the first time the combination of an Audemars Piguet skeletonized perpetual calendar with ‘Clous de Paris’ bezel has appeared at auction. Usually offered with a stepped bezel, the ‘Clous de Paris’ variation was described as part of the Audemars Piguet ‘Clous de Paris’ collection in their 125th anniversary catalogue for the year 2000.
