ENAMEL TABLE BOX AND BROOCH Continental. Made in the late 18th century. A tortoiseshell, painted on enamel and paste- set table box and an oval painted on enamel panel mounted in a gem-set brooch. The box: circular, two-body, the lid set with a circular painted on enamel panel depicting two parting lovers and a lady looking on in a landscape, polished gold border and outer border of alternating red and white square-cut pastes. The brooch: oval painted on enamel depicting a group of travelling musicians merrymaking, silver brooch mount set with red stones. Notes DIM. 84 x 37 mm; 53 x 46 mm. In good condition.
