LONGINES OVERSIZE MILITARY-TYPE WRISTWATCH Longines, movement No. 5677987, case No. 20118 53. Sold to Zipper, Longines' agent in Poland on December 24, 1938. Fine and rare, oversized, stainless steel "Staybrite" military- type wristwatch. Three-body, solid, polished, inclined bezel, concave lugs with fixed bars, large crown, snap-on back. Matte black with Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds, scratched with initials "AK". Steel skeleton baton hands. Cal. 17.26, matte gilt, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance-spring, index regulator. Notes Dial and movement signed, case numbered. DIAM. 43.5 mm. THICKNESS 11.5 mm. The Longines archives confirm the manufacture of the present watch with a stainless steel case and caliber 17.26 movement and its subsequent sale to their agent Zipper in Poland on 24th December 1938.
