Very fine, elegant, and very rare, tonneau-shaped, curved, platinum wristwatch with the original platinum and gold deployant clasp No. 8232. Two-body, the band with 4 screws in the band to secure the back, straight lugs with gold screwed bars with platinum heads, beaded winding crown set with a cabochon sapphire, curved crystal. Engine-turned "rayons de soleil" matte silver with radial Roman numerals, inner minute track. Black Breguet hands. Cal. JLC 123 - 9''', rhodium plated, fausses cotes decoration, 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with 8 adjustments, flat balance spring, index regulator. Notes Dial signed Cartier, case and movement signed European Watch & Clock Co. Inc., France. Both parts of the case punch numbered. Deployant clasp numbered and punched EJ for Edmond Jaeger. DIAM. 24 x 34 mm. THICKNESS 8 mm. An excellent original and unrestored example of the rare platinum tonneau cintree. Both parts of the case are fully numbered and the case and movement signed by the European Watch & Clock Co. Inc. Furthermore the watch retains the original gold and platinum deployant clasp. According to the Cartier Archives this watch was entered in the registers in 1927.
