ZENITH STEEL CHRONOGRAPH DESK CLOCK FOR THE SWISS POSTAL SERVICE Zenith, Le Locle, Suisse, movement and case No. 4919607, Model 58. Made for the Swiss Postal Service, circa 1930. Very fine and rare, stainless steel adjustable desk clock with chronograph, register and 24-hour dial. Dial signed, movement signed and numbered, case numbered. Overall Notes DIM. 12 x 10.7 cm., DIAM. of watch 71 mm. This model of table or desk clock with chronograph was apparently supplied for use by the Swiss Postal Service Directorate and was a popular office clock. The strong, clean and elegant design with oversized chronograph makes this clock a highly desirable vintage piece that fits perfectly within a modern setting. A very similar clock is illustrated and described in "Zenith, Watch Manufacture Since 1865", Manfred Rössler, 2009, p. 296. Another identical clock (No. 5036800) was sold by Antiquorum, Geneva, November 10, 2013, lot 279.
