Extremely fine and very rare, two-train, Petite Sonnerie striking and quarter-repeating, silver, enamel, agate and rose-cut diamond-set 8-day going desk clock. Accompanied by the original Cartier gold-tooled red morocco fitted box. Rectangular silver entirely decorated with translucent purple guilloche enamel with white champlevé enamel borders, bezel decorated with white enamel "pearls", the sides centered with an applied rose-cut diamond-set rosette, the top with a pierced rose-cut diamond-set monogram "DR" in a circle, the back with shuttered winding holes for winding and hand-setting and aperture for regulation, moonstone-set repeat button, carved and polished agate base. Circular convex white enamel with dauphine numerals, outer painted gold minute track with Arabic fifteen-minute numerals. Rose-cut diamond-set arrow hands. No. 17791, rectangular brass plates, four pillars, going barrels for both trains, lateral lever escapement on a matte gilt platform, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator, striking and repeating on two gongs with two hammers.
