CARTIER MINUTE REPEATING DESK CLOCK - ORIGINAL BOX Cartier, No. 1315. Made circa 1910. Very fine and extremely rare, minute-repeating, silver and enamel, keyless desk clock. Accompanied by the original Carter gold-tooled green morocco box. Square, the upper section entirely decorated with translucent green guilloche enamel with white champlevé enamel borders, the rectangular base overlaid with translucent violet guilloche enamel with white champlevé enamel borders, the sides of the base with gold paillon wreath garlands, yellow gold bezel engraved with a repeated pattern, large winding crown/ repeating button decorated with stripes of white and violet enamel and set with a cabochon nephrite. Matte silver with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, sunray engine-turned center. Gold fleur-de-lys hands. 68 mm., circular, matte gilt, jeweled to the center, straight line lever escapement, notched bimetallic compensation balance, Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the winding crown. Notes Dial signed, case punch-numbered on the base, the interior of both sections numbered in ink "155007" on the counter enamel. DIM. 12.2 x 9.5 x 4.4 cm. A fine and original minute-repeating clock of unusual form with keyless winding. The case has some minor old chips but is overall in good condition. It is further enhanced by the survival of the original fitted case.
