Made in 1930, sold on March 17, 1931. Very fine and rare, 18K yellow gold keyless pocket watch with special dial. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Four-body, "bassine", polished. Hinged gold cuvette engraved ".Fabriqué Spécialement pour V. Astrua, Turin". Brushed silver with applied yellow gold faceted dart indexes and Breguet quarter-hour numerals, outer engraved dot minute divisions, subsidiary seconds, a series of numbers "155; 263; 274; 153" below the signature. Yellow gold feuille hands. 18''', frosted gilt, 18 jewels, wolf's tooth winding, moustache straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance-spring, index regulator. Notes Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed. DIAM. 47 mm. Made for the prestigious Italian retailer V. Astrua of Turin, the present watch is one of very few Patek Philippe watches that are known with specially made dials to the customer's order, those other known examples were usually made for watches for Observatory trial. That does not seem to be the case for the present watch and it has not been possible to discover the meaning of the series of numbers on the dial which were presumably only of significance to Astrua.
