Stowa, Germany, No. 2540, circa 1945. Interesting, center second, water-resistant, military wristwatch. two body, polished, screwed and engraved case back, lapidated lugs. black with radium-coated Arabic numerals. "Alpha" radium-coated steel hands. Notes Engraved on the back: "Armee Franfaise " and the nnrnber. This watch is part of a stock of timekeepers, made in Germany by Stowa (Walther Storz Co.) which were requisitioned by the French Government at the end of WWII, as war damage compensation. They were then marked "Armee Franfaise". These watches were very well-constructed with a Laco-Durowe movement.
