Very fine and rare silver, pair of keyless pocket lever chronometers with split-seconds chronograph and instantaneous 60 minutes recorder; in original fitted mahogany and travelling boxes. Bulletins de Premiere Classe de l'Observatoire National de Besancon, No. 16604, in 1941, with a total of 239,12 marks and No. 16605, in 1941, with a total of 186,42 marks. Three body, massive, "bassine ", polished. Hinged silver cuvettes. Three body mahogany fitted box and travelling case. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minutes and chronograph rings, sunk subsidiary seconds and minutes register. Gold "pear" hands. Notes The punch mark in form of a viper's head is set by the Observatory of Besancon on watches successful at the contest and awarded the Bulletin 1 Phwiere Classe. This exceptional pair of pocket lever chronometers, sold in a mahogany fitted case with outer protecting box, was certainly specially made for a scientific expedition.
