Courvoisier & Jonais, Brevete S. G.D.G. Chaux-de- Fonds, Suisse, No. 20032, circa 1875. Fine 18K gold double face calendar, keyless watch, Patented No. 122, from June 27, 1871. Three body, massive, "bassine et filets " with glazed back. White enamel on the front with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "spade " hands. White enamel on the rear face, the dates on the border with subsidiary dials for the months and the days of the week. Notes The Courvoisier coat-of-arms was properly identified thanks to these type of watches, of which several unsigned examples had been wrongly attributed until the discovery of the first fully signed watch.
