Notes The mythical Mille Miglia began in 1927 as 1000 mile course of public roads from Brescia to Rome and back again, with flat out racing along the Italian countryside. Stopped during World War II, the race resumed in 1947 until 1957, when after a tragic accident, the famous Mille Miglia was abandoned. In 1977, the Mille Miglia was recreated as a vintage car race, of cars built between 1927 dnd 1957. It is again a prestigious annual event. Chopard has been sponsoring the Mille Miglia race since 1988, and creating sportingly elegant timepieces imbued with a nostalgic charm. Several watches of the Chopard Mille Miglia line have become genuine collector's items.
