Gregson ? Paris, 13229, circa 1790.Very fine 18K gold and enamel, pearl-set watch in glazed gilt brass protecting case. Double body Directoire with split-pearl set bezels, the back enamel panel painted with a scene featuring Hebe, goddess of youth, she was the daughter of Jupiter and Juno and was wedded to Hercules after his ascent to Olympus. White enamel with Breguet numerals. Gold pierced interlaced hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with conical pillars, fusee with chain, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece.Signed on the dial and back plate.Diam. 54 mm.
