James Mc Cabe, Royal Exchange, London, No. 04702, made for the Indian Market, circa 1860.Fine and rare, small 18K gold and enamel, hunting cased, minute repeating watch with special escapement, accompanied by a gold key, suspended from a short gold chain. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", by Alfred Stram (Master mark) the cover enamelled with a painted reclining nude, the back with the coat-of-arms of Sir Jamsetjee Jajeebhioy with his motto: Industry and Liberality. Hinged gold cuvette. Gold with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, the centre florally engraved, the border with cast gold foliage decoration. Blued steel "fleurs-de-lys" hands.
