Breguet, No. 874, “donnée en confiance” in Germinal an 10 (March 22 - April 20, 1802) to Monsieur Leleu for 600 francs. Very fine, large, two-tone silver and gold “souscription” watch in Breguet Morocco fitted box. Three-body, “Empire”, by Joly, polished, gold bezels, hinges and bow. White enamel, by Borel No. 116, secret signature below 12 o’clock, small radial Breguet numerals, inner five-minute divisions, secured by two feet. Single blued steel pointed hand. 57 mm, gilt brass, four-wheel souscription caliber with central barrel wound on both sides, Breguet ruby cylinder escapement, plain three-arm gilt balance, flat balance spring, escapement jeweled. Signed on dial and movement. Diam. 61 mm. Notes An early example of a souscription watch with a rather unusual dial.
