German, made for the Oriental Market, circa 1920. Fine, silver gilt, singing bird box. Rectangular, the side panels repoussé with formal decoration, the cover with peacocks and further floral ornaments, the lid of the bird decorated en suite with birds on branches. Gilt brass rectangular with rectangular bellow and fly regulator, the going barrel with two cams driving the movements of the bird, moving wings, beak and pivoting.Dim. 102 x 60 x 44 mm.
