Chinese, 20th century. A matched pair of porcelain moon flasks converted to lamps, each having hand embellished transfer decoration to white body on tondo of six Buddhist monks or elders seated in a garden setting surrounded by grasses, trees, and flowers, with a seated monk to one side being enveloped by an enormous koi fish just behind a pool filled with white capped waves, with floral decorated light blue scroll form handles to either side of neck, and coordinated decoration to round neck and rectangular foot, overall raised to a rectangular footed wood stand and having wooden cylindrical neck below brass harp and tapered rectangular ivory linen pleated shades. Height to top of shade 31", width of porcelain vase 12.5", depth of wooden base 4.375", width of shade 17.25", depth of shade 11".
