Swiss, circa 1780. Fine 18K gold and enamel watch. Double-body, Louis XVI, the back enamel panel with symbols of Love and Fidelity: a dog, a couple of doves and the altar of Love, painted over a blue ground. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minutes ring. Hinged gilt brass, with conical pillars, fusee with chain, the original verge escapement now replaced by a pointed tooth lateral lever escapement, plain gold three-arm balance, flat balance spring.Diam. 36 mm.
